SEO: organic search that generates customers, not just traffic
Most companies that invest in SEO measure success by watching a traffic curve. The problem is that traffic alone doesn't pay the bills. What matters is qualified traffic: people searching for exactly what you offer, ready to take action.
My SEO services are built around that reality. Whether you're a US-based business looking for a consultant who understands both the American market and North American cross-border search, a Montreal company targeting competitive Quebec queries, or a firm in Trois-Rivières that wants to dominate its local market, every audit, every keyword targeted, and every page created serves one goal: attract the right visitors and convert them into customers.
SEO audit & keyword plan
Before touching anything, I run a complete diagnostic of your site. Not an 80-page automated report that nobody reads. A focused, prioritized audit with concrete recommendations.
The audit covers three areas:
- Technical health. Can Google crawl and index your site properly? Robots.txt, sitemaps, page speed, Core Web Vitals, indexation errors. Everything that stops your pages from performing.
- Existing content. Which pages have potential? Which ones are holding your site back? I look at what already ranks in positions 5 to 20 (the "quick wins") and what should be improved, consolidated, or removed.
- Keyword research. I identify the exact terms your potential customers type into Google. Not just generic high-volume keywords. The high-intent queries that bring in people ready to buy. Each keyword is classified by search intent, estimated volume, difficulty, and priority.
The output: a clear roadmap that tells you exactly what to do, in what order, and why.
Recent example: an audit for a mid-sized US manufacturer identified 47 cannibalized pages and an indexing issue affecting 30% of the product catalog. After technical fixes and internal linking restructure, qualified organic traffic grew by 42% over 6 months.
Content creation & thought leadership
Quality SEO content does two things at once: it ranks in Google, and it convinces the reader that you're the expert in your field. If your content does one without the other, it's only doing half the job.
I create service pages and in-depth articles that demonstrate your expertise. Not generic content rewritten ten times. Content that reflects your real experience, your professional opinions, and your on-the-ground knowledge.
Every piece of content is built to:
- Rank. Optimized structure (title tags, H1/H2, internal links), strategically placed keywords, search intent aligned with format.
- Convert. Content doesn't stop at "informing." Every page guides the reader toward a concrete action: quote request, discovery call, signup.
- Build authority. Google evaluates E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). Content with data, real examples, and a clear expert viewpoint ranks better and generates more trust.
The effect compounds. Every article published strengthens your site's topical authority. After a few months, new pages rank faster because Google recognizes your site as a reliable source on your topic.
Example: for a Montreal-based B2B client, a series of 12 in-depth articles published over 6 months generated 180 organic leads over 12 months, at a cost per lead roughly 4x lower than their paid campaigns on the same topics.
Local, regional, and US-focused SEO
SEO rules shift depending on your target market. A business in Trois-Rivières doesn't work the same levers as a company targeting Montreal or Chicago.
- US market SEO. Competitive keyword strategy for American search, backlink acquisition from US-relevant sources, content that speaks the idioms and pain points of US buyers. Especially useful if you're a Canadian business expanding south or a US business working with a bilingual consultant.
- Regional SEO (Montreal, Quebec). Topical authority, quality local backlinks, content tuned to Quebec market specifics. Bilingual search strategy where needed.
- Local SEO (Trois-Rivières, Mauricie). Google Business Profile, local citations, reviews, LocalBusiness schema. The goal: show up in the "map pack" for queries with local intent.
Why work with me on SEO
SEO isn't a service I subcontract. It's a field I've practiced for more than 20 years, starting with web performance measurement at Cirque du Soleil, then leading marketing at Biztree, and managing strategic accounts at NVI (now iProspect Canada).
More than 200 sites audited since 2008, including e-commerce stores generating millions in annual revenue, B2B sites, and international SaaS platforms. I've seen just about every SEO problem a site can have, and more importantly, I've seen what actually works versus what just looks good in a report.
When you work with me, it's directly with me. Not a junior account manager learning on your budget. I take on a limited number of clients so each project gets the attention it deserves.
Most of my clients stay for years. That's the best quality indicator I know of.
20+ years
Of continuous SEO work, going back to when Google AdWords was still called that.
200+
Sites audited for clients in the US, Canada, and beyond.
Bilingual
Native-level French and fully fluent English. Useful for cross-border SEO and the Quebec market.
SEO frequently asked questions
How long before I see results from SEO?
SEO is a medium-term investment. Early wins (technical fixes, quick wins on keywords where you already rank in positions 11 to 20) typically show up in 1 to 3 months. For competitive keywords and solid positioning, expect 6 to 12 months. The upside is that results compound over time, unlike paid ads which stop the moment the budget stops.
Is SEO still worth it in 2026 with AI search?
More than ever. AI search engines (Google AI Overview, ChatGPT, Perplexity) pull their content from websites with strong authority and well-structured content. Good SEO is now the foundation of being referenced in AI search. The two disciplines reinforce each other. See also my page on AI search optimization (GEO).
What's the difference between an automated SEO audit and your audit?
A tool like SEMrush or Ahrefs can generate a list of technical errors. That's useful, but it's not a diagnosis. My audit interprets the data in the context of your industry, your competition, and your business objectives. You walk away with clear priorities, not just a list of problems.
Do you work with clients based in the US?
Yes. I'm based near Montreal and work regularly with US clients. SEO is done remotely with regular video check-ins. I'm fully bilingual and comfortable writing and speaking to both English-speaking and French-speaking audiences.
